A meeting was held on Wednesday, May 12th at the TRA premises gathering licensed ISPs and DSPs and the TRA board to discuss the latest developments in the sector as well as the TRA prerogatives and work plan.

Dr. Imad Hoballah, Acting Chairman and CEO of the TRA opened the session with a clarification about the resignation of Dr. Kamal Shehadi, which is a loss for the TRA and the public sector in Lebanon, and the necessity of isolating it from any political pressure.

Dr. Hoballah also emphasized on main issues related to the TRA and mainly on the continuity of the Authority’s regulatory work based on its legal mandate. He also stressed on the fact that the TRA was and is still working on implementing Telecommunications Law 431/2002 resulting in the promotion of fair competition.

The floor was then left for an open dialogue with the participants and the TRA board about ISPs and DSPs major concerns related to their respective businesses.
