The first Arab Internet Governance forum (AIGF) took place on October 9-11, 2012 in Kuwait under the theme "A Better Internet for A Better Arab World" and was based on the outcome of the Arab MAG meeting (Cairo, 18-19/6/2012) which took into consideration the “Arab regional roadmap for Internet governance, framework, Principles and Objectives”.

The event gathered high level professionals to discuss and share their views and experience about the Access, Openness, Security and Privacy, Content, Managing Critical Internet Resources and the Youth themes.

Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA acting chairman and CEO participated in the panel about access and content and Mrs. Corine Feghaly, TRA Senior Consumer Affairs expert, gave a presentation on the Lebanese efforts around child online protection in the “Protecting Children Online; Assessing blocking and self-regulation in the Arab Region” workshop.
