Representatives from Arab telecommunications regulators as well as from the World Bank gathered on 26-28th June in Cairo to review the Arab Regulators Infrastructure Forum (ARIF) fundamental bylaws.

This meeting Vice-Chaired by Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA Acting Chairman and CEO, also discussed a draft work plan and decided on the next steps for registering the Forum in Egypt.

Participants had the chance to debate crucial issues such as:

- the development of regulations related to infrastructure in member countries

- Regulators’ empowerment and the development of inter-cooperation between member countries

- the harmonization of the policies and regulations related to the organization of infrastructure in Arab countries.

- the contribution to various initiatives that aim at supporting economic and social development in Arab countries.

The upcoming ARIF meeting was scheduled to take place in three months.
