Eng. Said Haidar, speaks on the second day of the Arab Day for Safety and Security in Cyberspace conference

Eng. Said Haidar Senior Quality of Service Management Expert at the TRA, participated in the second day of the Arab Day for Safety and Security in Cyberspace conference organized by the Antonine University in collaboration with the Arab Observatory for safety and protection in Cyberspace.

Eng. Haidar gave a presentation within the fourth session titled: " Challenges of the legislation related to communications ". this session was chaired by HE Deputy Mr. Hassan Fadlallah in the presence and participation of Eng. Khaled Abdel Kader from the Standards and Specifications Authority of Lebanon, Judge Mr. Moataz El Hosseiny, legal adviser of the president of the National Postal Authority, Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Radhi, head of the Sixth Protocol IPV6 Forum in Jordan, and Dr. Jawhar El Jammoussi, university professor and head of the Tunisian Association for the law of Internet and multimedia.

In his presentation, Eng.Haidar declared that the current Lebanese efforts deployed to face the global threats of the cyber risks are insufficient. In this framework, he stressed on the TRA efforts and actions to confront these risks by participating in drafting the ICT and e-transaction law in addition to the technical efforts made in coordination and collaboration with the Ministries of Communications and defense to secure the protection of the communications networks infrastructure. The TRA is also making considerable efforts with all stakeholders in the public and private sectors as well as the concerned associations in order to create awareness about the subject and work on implementing a clear strategy to protect the Lebanese Cyberspace and telecommunications networks.

Moreover, Eng. Haidar proposed to form in the future a team and a national center chaired by the TRA with members from the public and private institutions, including the Ministries of Communications, Defense and Interior to respond to complaints and work on solving any occurring problem related to Cyberspace misuse.
