The Spectrum Monitoring team at the TRA undertook field measurement and detection operations in various Lebanese regions this week, to name but a few: Byakouf, Bsalim, Bir Hassan and Burj Hammoud. Field measurements resulted in the identification of illegal repeaters causing interference on mobile networks. Repeaters’ owners were requested to dismantle the mentioned equipment since it is not in conformity with laws and regulations in force. They were also requested to inform the TRA about the source of purchasing of this equipment.

These actions are in line with the TRA mission of managing and regulating the spectrum in order to improve the quality of service and protect the rights of the Lebanese citizens.
