Dr. Imad Hoballah, Acting Chairman and CEO of the TRA, speaks at the opening ceremony at Arabcom 2010

ARABCOM, a regional yearly event gathering industry leaders is being held this year in Beirut on 13 - 15 May 2010 at Habtoor Hotel – Beirut in the presence the Minister of telecommunication, His Excellency Eng. Charbel Nahas. This year’s conference examines Telecom developments, Investments, Regulations, Networks, Devices, Services, Applications, Security, Access, with particular relevance to the ARAB World market.

Dr. Imad Hoballah, Acting Chairman and CEO of the TRA, gave a speech during the opening ceremony in which he announced that the TRA will persevere with its mission as an independent authority to liberalize and develop the telecommunications sector in Lebanon . He also stated that the TRA and the Ministry of Telecommunications (MoT) have reached an agreement concerning important issues related to Lebanese consumers as well as the private sector. He also mentioned in his speech the necessity of deploying broadband services in Lebanon and TRA role in defining a general strategy to introduce and promote these services.
