The number of mobile subscriptions worldwide has reached 4.6 billion, according to the latest estimates by the International Telecommunication Union, who also predicted the growth of this figure by 8.6% resulting in 5 billion subscriptions in 2010.

Broadband subscriptions are expected to reach one billion subscriptions worldwide by end 2010 whereas this number totaled 600 million in 2009, which results in a growth rate of 66%.

Lebanon is lacking behind in terms of Broadband connectivity and the market is awaiting its launch or probably the real understanding of its expected benefits and positive impact on the National Economy.
