December 03, 2025
Marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) celebrated worldwide on December 3rd, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) renewed its commitment to make Lebanon’s telecom sector more inclusive, underscoring the urgent need to expand accessibility and ensure equal rights for persons with disabilities across mobile services in the country.
In this context, the TRA called on Lebanon’s mobile network operators, Alfa and Touch, to collaborate and to incorporate concrete offers and solutions for persons with disabilities into their strategic plans. These include tailored packages, enhanced online and onsite accessibility, and partnerships with relevant organizations to support awareness initiatives.
The Authority reiterated that meaningful inclusion depends on strong collaboration between regulators, service providers, and the civil society, and stressed the need for continued progress toward a telecom environment that serves everyone equally.
