October 06, 2025
With the appointment of its Chairwoman and Board Members Dr. Jenny Gemayel, Dr. Diana Bou Ghanem, Dr. Rajaa Al Charif, Eng. Mohammad Ayoub, and Dr. Hayssam Serhan, a new chapter unfolds for the TRA today.
H.E. Minister Charles Hage has convened the media earlier today to a press conference to officially announce the relaunch of the Authority where he congratulated the Board Members on their appointment, stressing the importance of restoring the TRA as an independent authority that ensures fair competition and innovation in Lebanon’s telecom sector.
TRA Chairwoman Dr. Jenny Gemayel underlined that the Authority’s priorities are to reform and modernize the telecom sector, safeguard consumer rights, and ensure inclusive access to telecom services across all regions of Lebanon. She emphasized: “We will work to guarantee that telecom services reach every territory fairly. Customer satisfaction will remain at the heart of our mission, as we focus on quality, transparency, and trust.”
The Board held its first meeting, during which responsibilities were distributed among its members in preparation for the launch of a clear work plan based on independence, transparency, and fair regulation.
Dr. Gemayel also committed to issuing regular progress reports to ensure transparency and accountability, while gradually developing its scope to become a broader regulatory authority for both telecommunications and digital services, contributing to restoring Lebanon’s leadership position in the region.
