The parliamentary Information and Telecommunications Committee meeting held on Tuesday, August 17 at the parliament in Down Town Beirut was unprecedented as participants acknowledged the crucial and active role of the TRA in the development and the regulation of the sector in Lebanon.

The session was presided by Dr. Hussein El Hajj Hassan and attended by HE Minister Talal Hawat, the members of the committee of the parliamentary commission and the TRA general manager, Mr. Amine Moukheiber among others.

Further to the intervention of the TRA general manager, the committee and the attendees endorsed the enforcement and the application of Law 431.

Although the nomination of the TRA board members is still pending, numerous projects and actions can still be processed especially those related to approved and published regulations, to name a few: the Quality of service and the Type approval regulations.

A series of work groups will be scheduled between the TRA and the Minister of Telecommunications to move the coordination forward for the benefit of the telecom sector in Lebanon.
