The
TRA is pleased to support ITU and the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Youth and sister agencies who have joined forces to crowdsource input to the UN’s Post 2015 development agenda.
Crowdsourcing is the broad term applied to dividing a task between members of the public, such as volunteers, who all contribute a small piece to a big puzzle. The initiative will see young people offering their views on tangible targets and indicators for youth empowerment in the Post 2015 development agenda, with the outcome feeding into official processes facilitating the negotiations – specifically the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals (OWG).
ITU continues to explore innovative means to connect public sector institutions to citizens and constituents, to create informed and relevant policy. The setting of the global Post-2015 development agenda provides an excellent opportunity to engage citizens in public consultation and dialogue on the issues affecting them – to give them an active stake in this process – and create a feeling of ownership for the final goals.
This initiative will allow ITU to connect with young audiences in a unique and meaningful way, to create a two-way conversation and provide a tangible means of dialogue. Such activities are also resulting in a growing and vital understanding that ICT tools are not just products for consuming entertainment and mass-media, but are a powerful catalyst for achieving sustained economic, social and environmental development.
The TRA invites the Lebanese youth with innovative ideas to contribute and share views and be part of the Global Partnership for Youth in the Post-2015 Development Agenda by using and visiting below social media platforms:
