The TRA held a workshop on Wednesday, October 2nd, with all licensed importers and manufacturers of telecommunications equipment as well as importers wishing to put their equipment for sale and use on the Lebanese market to describe the new Type Approval procedure that will be applied as of October 12, 2013.

The workshop was held in the presence of HE Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui at the MoT premises further to the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Telecommunications No. 623/1 published in the Official Gazette No 40 on 12/09/13 that put into effect as of 12 October 2013, the application of the Type Approval Regulation issued by the TRA and published in the Official Gazette (No. 17 Date of 16/04/2009 ), and that is in direct implementation of the Telecommunications Law 431/2002, articles 22 and 23.

Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA Chairman and CEO, described the new process that will be put in place as of October 12 and answered participants questions. In addition, Dr. Wafa Bou Diab, Type Approval and QoS Expert, went through the technical and logistical details of the new procedure.
