The TRA is pleased to announce that it will start applying the Type Approval Regulation published in the Official Gazette (No. 17 Date of 16/04/2009 ) as of 12 October 2013 in implementation of the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Communications No. 623/1 published in the Official Gazette No 40 of 09/12/13 and based on the Telecommunications Law 431/2002, articles 22 and 23.

The Type Approval Regulation applies to all telecommunications equipment that will be made available on the Lebanese territories as of 10/12/2013. This regulation includes the procedures for importing, manufacturing and certifying the equipment as defined by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority.

Therefore, the TRA urges all the licensed importers and manufacturers of telecommunications equipment and / or importers wishing to put their equipment for sale on the Lebanese market , as well as all licensed telecommunications Service Providers by the Ministry of Telecommunications to contact the TRA and inquire about the new procedure in order to facilitate their work and to preserve the proper functioning of their business and the telecommunications equipment market in Lebanon.
