Safer Internet Day takes place in February of each year to promote safer and more responsible use of the Internet, especially amongst children and young people across the world.
Since its inception, the
TRA has been actively participating in this event which has been steadily growing, with an increase in general awareness, stronger involvement of relevant stakeholders in the field of Internet safety and a high level of media interest.
This year’s event will take place on
February 5th in various locations in Lebanon. The
TRA in collaboration with
World Vision, the
Higher Council for Child Protection at the
Ministry of Social Affairs, the
Center for Educational Research and Development at the
Ministry of Education and Higher Education,
Himaya,
YMCA and many others, are putting hands together to create safety awareness and responsible use of the Internet. This activity will involve a strong media campaign, the launch of a new school curriculum and a school students’ competition backed by a theatrical play dedicated for online safety.
The TRA will continuously update its website before and during the event to keep Lebanese citizens informed.
