The Internet Society and ICT Qatar held the INET conference under the theme "The rise of the Arab Information Society" on November 27, 2012, in Doha, Qatar.

INET focused on the importance of connecting with regional Internet communities throughout the Arab region and discussed the following topics:

• Arab businesses on the Internet
• Development of Arabic content online
• The multi-stakeholder model in the region
• The state of the Internet in the Arab world
• Trends of Arab Internet users related to trust, privacy, security and freedom
• Internet Governance in the Arab world

Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA acting Chairman and CEO, presented the : "Digital Content Challenges and Actions Required by Governments to Foster its Development", within the "Internet Policy Challenges and the Way Forward" session, where he covered the major laws and regulations of the Last few years in this field.
