The TRA held today, Wednesday, June 15, 2011, a press conference at its premises in downtown Beirut, to address the issues raised in the telecommunications sector.

The conference that started at two o'clock in the afternoon was marked by the presence of a large number of Media representatives to whom the issues raised were of high importance and interest.

Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA acting Chairman and CEO, delivered a speech in which he stressed on three main topics:

1. Re-clarification of the relationship between the Authority and the Ministry of Telecommunications.
2. The current situation of the telecommunications sector in Lebanon
3. The Authority’s prerogatives as per Telecommunications Law 431/2002 and the State of Council decisions in this regard.

At the end of the conference, the TRA Board answered the questions raised by the audience.
