TRA Senior Quality of Service Management Expert, Eng. Said Haidar, attended ISO National Workshops on :"ISO/IEC 27001 Information Security Management Systems (ISMS)" in Beirut from the 7th to the 9th of June, 2011.

Held under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, H.E Abraham Dedeyan, this workshop was organized by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and hosted by the Lebanese Standards Institution - LIBNOR.

The workshop was animated by Dr. Angelika Plate, ISO expert and secretary of ISO/EC JTC1 SC 27 WG1 (the Working Group dealing with the 27000 family of standards).

The workshop covered the following main topics:

• Description of the new "27000 Family of Standards": (ISO/IEC 27000 – ISO/IEC 27007), ISO/IEC 27001:2005, ISO/IEC 27002:2005, ISO/IEC 27003:2010, ISO/IEC 27004:2009, ISO/IEC 27005:2008, ISO/IEC 27006:2007
• Understanding the requirements of the well-known international standard ISO/IEC 27001,
• Understanding how to implement the ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27002 standards and the route to certification,
• Gaining insight into how to carry out ISMS (Information Security Management Systems) risk assessments and selection of controls,
• Discussing important issues in risk management and gain hands-on experience in performing risk assessments.

At the end of the Workshop, H.E Abraham Dedeyan, distributed the workshop certifications to the attendees.
