The dismantlement of a GSM repeater improves the quality of MTC network in the area

The
TRA spectrum monitoring team conducted field measurements in Hazmieh- Mar Taqla on Tuesday, June 7th and detected external interference on the MTC site located next to a commercial center on the main road to Mansourieh. Further to field investigation, the TRA team assessed the source of interference that was due to the existence of a GSM repeater on the roof top of a building in the area. The spectrum team disconnected the repeater and requested from the building’s owner to dismantle all related equipment.
The interference that caused disruption on the MTC network in the area resulted in a poor calls quality. MTC confirmed further to a network performance analysis that the interference was eradicated and quality of calls went back to normal shortly after the dismantlement of the mentioned illegal equipment.
