Organized by the
Arab ICT Organization (IJMA3) and the
Syrian Computer Society (SCS), the
3rd annual MENA ICT week was held on March 25 - 29, 2011, in the Omayyad Palace for Conferences in Damascus, Syria.
This event gathered industry professionals and ICT sector experts who came from 14 different countries from the Arab world, Europe, United States and Africa to discuss the following topics:
- Arab strategies that aim at achieving sustainable development for ICT
- Status of ICT in the Arab world and the obstacles facing the development of this sector
- Future strategies for ICT sector development
Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA acting chairman and CEO, gave a presentation titled :
ICT and Security, The Need to Move from “Consumers” to “Developed” Countries in which he declared that major developing countries have succeeded in improving their ICT indicators and discussed Governmental involvement in Cyber Security, attacks, and wars.
He also presented different cases of Cyber Crime and Security Attacks and concluded his presentation by stating ICT Security Policy Recommendations.
