On the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of Haigazian University, Dr. Imad Hoballah, TRA Acting Chairman and CEO, gave a lecture today, Thursday, January 13, 2011, on “Information, Communication, and Network Security in Lebanon” at Haigazian University in the presence of the President of the University, Dr. Paul Haydoustian, the university deans and professors, diplomats, concerned experts and a crowd of students.

During his speech, Dr. Hoballah gave an overview of the national and social role of ICT in a country’s progress and highlighted the ICT threats and their possible solutions, based on recent standards and best practices used to regulate and secure ICT infrastructures and applications, in step with the technological developments in this field.

Dr. Hoballah then discussed the status of ICT in Lebanon, and highlighted the technical gaps that threaten the ICT infrastructures as a result of the shortcomings and failures at the legislative, regulatory, administrative and technical levels. He closed his lecture by announcing that the TRA is currently working on a security action plan that will help, if adopted, put Lebanon on the right track to deal with the ICT Security Challenges.
