The TRA sends circulars to all Lebanese Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) in an effort to protect consumers
July 14, 2010
On the 2nd of July 2010, the TRA sent circulars to all Licensed Lebanese ISPs asking them to take all necessary measures to clearly mention in their published offers and products descriptions that the uplink and downlink speeds are “up to X Kbits/s” especially whenever those services are offered on a “Best Effort Basis”.
Since not all consumers are aware of the Technical matters related to Uplink and Downlink speeds, this would clarify that the announced Uplink and Downlink speeds for those services offered on a “Best Effort Basis”, are not met in a permanent manner around the clock and during all times.
