The TRA released its 2009 Annual Report on March 31st -as per article 4 paragraph 5 in the Telecommunications Law 431- highlighting the Authority’s progress towards the reform and liberalization of telecommunications in Lebanon and submitted it to the COM through HE Minister Charbel Nahas.
The report encompasses the work and achievements of the TRA in 2009 and revolves around three specific tracks along with a detailed financial report recapping the Authority’s unaudited figures:
- Paving the way towards liberalization,
- Strengthening the regulatory framework
- Building capacities and bridges
The TRA spared no efforts in 2009 in continuing its mission to liberalize the market, establish the regulatory framework and build bridges and capacities. The Authority focused mainly on the development and advancement of the telecommunications market through the preparation of the ground work leading to the deployment of broadband services, improving the quality of service, protecting consumers as well as hosting the GSR, a major annual ITU meeting for all the regulators in the world.
The TRA will be soon releasing a bi-lingual version in Arabic and English.
