An ITU delegation lead by Mr. Sami Al Basheer Al Morshid, Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) at the ITU, visited Lebanon on 24th - 26th August to follow-up on the preparations of the GILF/GSR and met with parties involved in event.

Mr. Al Basheer and members of the TRA Board visited Lebanese officials and mobilized political support to ensure the success of GSR/GILF event taking place in Beirut in the forthcoming November (9-12th November).

The delegation visited officials in the Presidential Palace, the Minister of Telecommunications HE. Gebran Bassil, HE. PCM designate Saad Hariri and HE. PCM Fouad Seniora. The visits outcome was very positive as all parties pledged their support to the event.
