Held under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lebanon, General Michel Sleiman, on 2nd and 3rd April 2009, « La Décentralisation : vers un projet d’État » is an International Symposium focusing on economic and administrative decentralization issues and benefits.

Dr. Kamal Shehadi, Chairman and CEO of the TRA, participated as a speaker within a panel dedicated to telecommunications titled « Décentralisation et Réseaux des Télécommunications ». His presentation stressed on the importance of telecom liberalization in the promotion of regional development .
