Lebanon is in the process of accessing the World Trade Organization. Meetings were held in Geneva from February 26th to 28th in that regard. The Lebanese delegation was headed by the Minister of Economy and Trade, his Excellency Mohammad Safadi and involved representatives from the TRA, Ministries of Telecommunications, Economy and Trade, Industry, Agriculture, Finance, the Higher Customs Council, the Central Bank and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce Industry and Agriculture.

Specialized bilateral meetings were held with representatives from member countries in which questions related to goods and services were raised. Also, specific questions related to the telecommunications sector were addressed to the TRA in regard to the exclusivity period of Liban Telecom and the number of additional licenses to be granted. Written clarifications will be sent officially to concerned parties.
