Creating a National Consensus for Online Safety conference

Location: Manama, Bahrain.

“Creating a National Consensus for Online Safety” Conference will be held on April 26-28, 2010 in Manama, Bahrain.

The Family Online Safety Institute and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain are holding the Gulf's first Information Communication Technologies (ICT) and Online Safety Conference. Child online safety is of paramount concern to communities throughout the world, and TRA Bahrain is now taking the first steps to ensure such safety for its citizens and families in the region. A group of high-level speakers and audience will participate in this conference, including companies, organization and agencies that have operations or interest in corporate social responsibility in the Middle East such as Internet Service Providers, telecommunications companies, children's charities, law enforcement, educational establishments and NGOs.

Dr. Imad Hoballah, Board Member, Head of the Telecommunications Technologies Unit at the TRA, will participate in the panel titled “Focus on the Future” where he will talk about the differences in the culture of each society and its impact on cyber security. Dr. Hoballah will also highlight TRA Lebanon’s efforts in improving its relationship with other organizations in this regard, and will develop the Pan-Arab Cyber Security Observatory efforts.
