The growing global issues surrounding online safety and cybersecurity require a global response, especially when it comes to the protection of our youngest and most vulnerable digital citizens: our children. Detailed
Child Online Protection Guidelines have been prepared by
ITU in collaboration with
COP partners in order to establish the necessary foundation for a safer and more secure cyber world for future generations. The guidelines are meant to be adapted and adopted by all different stakeholders groups.
To date, four sets of guidelines have been developed for the following stakeholder groups:
- Children
- Parents, Guardians and Educators
- Industry
- Policy Makers
With these guidelines, the COP initiative calls upon all stakeholders to promote the adoption of policies and strategies that will protect children in cyberspace.
