The TRA Board approves the New Building Requirements for Broadband Services Delivery draft code
April 06, 2011

The “New Building Requirements for Broadband Services Delivery” draft code was issued for a limited consultation in November 2008 with a deadline to consult by March 2009. After having thoroughly taken into consideration the feedback received from related government departments and syndicates, especially the Order of Engineers and Architects – Beirut and the General Directorate of Urban Planning, the TRA Board approved the New Building Requirements for Broadband Services Delivery draft code on April 5, 2011. The application decree for the Building Law 646 will be amended consequently to account for these new building requirements and will be sent to the minister of public works and transport for his approval before being submitted to the Council of Ministers and published in the Official Gazette.

The purpose of these new building requirements is to set the design guidelines of the new buildings to be able to support and deliver broadband services to the different units (residential or commercial) where exploitation area exceeds 800 square meters or have at least 3 floors.
