The
"New Building Requirements for Broadband Services Delivery" code was issued for a limited consultation in November 2008 with a deadline to consult by March 2009. After having thoroughly taken into consideration the feedback received from related government departments and syndicates especially the Order of Engineers and Architects – Beirut and the General Directorate of Urban Planning, the TRA Board approved the
"New Building Requirements for Broadband Services Delivery" Code on April 5th, 2011. The application decree for the Building Law 646 will be amended to account for these New Building Requirements before being submitted by the General Directorate of Urban Planning to the Council of Ministers for approval.
The purpose of these new building requirements is to set the design guidelines of the new buildings to be able to support and deliver broadband services to the different units (residential or commercial) where exploitation area exceeds 800 square meters or have at least 3 floors.
