The President of the Republic of Lebanon, H.E. Joseph Aoun, met today with the newly appointed board members of the TRA at the Presidential Palace.

The meeting came at the request of the TRA board members, who sought to formally introduce themselves following their appointment in September 2025 to lead the Authority after 13 years of institutional dormancy.

President Aoun welcomed the delegation and expressed his full support for the TRA’s mission, emphasizing the importance of the Authority working independently, transparently, and free from any political pressure.

His Excellency reaffirmed his readiness to provide the TRA with all the necessary support to carry out its mandate effectively, including the support of security forces to enforce regulations when required. He stressed the critical role of strategic regulation and fair governance in rebuilding trust and strengthening the telecommunications sector.

President Aoun underlined that he is counting on the TRA to ensure the delivery of quality services to consumers, enhance state revenues, and revive Lebanon’s telecommunications sector, positioning it once again as a competitive player on both the regional and international levels.
