On September 8, TRA experts Eng. Said Haidar and Eng. Manal Shihab, members of the National Cybersecurity Committee, were invited by The General Secretary of the Higher Council of Defense Major General Mohamad EL Mostapha, to attend the Global National Cybersecurity Committee Meeting at the Grand Serail.

The meeting focused on reviewing the achievements of the Advance Counter Terrorism for Lebanon Security Project (ACT Lebanon) until its completion, and particularly the progress of the Counter Terrorism Strategy and the Cybersecurity Strategy. Participants also outlined the next steps for implementation.

Major General EL Mostapha welcomed the committee members and recognized their dedicated efforts since 2018. Lieutenant Colonel Mahmoud Othman presented an update on the Counter Terrorism Strategy, while Dr. Lina Oueidat, National Cybersecurity Coordinator, reviewed advances in the Cybersecurity Strategy and the draft Cybersecurity Law, pending government approval.

Dr. Oueidat extended her gratitude to all members, with special recognition to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Ogero, and the Ministry of Telecommunications for their pivotal contributions. She also acknowledged the efforts of those involved in Lebanon’s contribution to the OIC-CERT Annual Report 2024, noting the TRA’s key role in its preparation and delivery.
