In line with
Law 431 and its responsibility to regulate and develop telecommunications sector in Lebanon, while ensuring consumer rights are protected, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Lebanon (TRA) promotes awareness as a critical aspect in light of its mission to achieve high transparency among telecommunications stakeholders.
In that regards, the TRA launched its new Consumer Protection Brochure that aims at reaching a higher level of public awareness of consumers’ rights vis-à-vis telecom service providers.
The brochure details the TRA strategic and regulatory efforts related to consumer protection, where the TRA developed the Consumer Affairs regulation, the Code of Practice (COP) for Value Added Services (VAS), the Human Electromagnetic Field Exposure Limit regulation (EMF) and the Quality of Service regulation to ensure that the rights of telecommunications services’ consumers are protected.
The brochure also introduces the TRA’s tangible activities of consumer protection. including but not limited to, improving the quality of telecom services, lowering rates and tariffs, resolving consumer complaints, protecting children on the Internet and in cyberspace, ensuring the access of people with special needs and vulnerable groups to telecommunications services and creating awareness on regular basis through several communication channels.
The TRA will distribute this brochure electronically and by regular mail to various concerned stakeholders. Copies are also available in the TRA offices.
