A press conference was held on December 17 at Antonine University in Baabda, to announce the establishment of the "Pan Arab Observatory for Cybersecurity", its work plan and program. This event was marked by the patronage of the Minister of Justice HE Professor Ibrahim Najjar represented by the general Director of the Ministry judge Omar Al Natour and the presence of the head of the Judicial Police, General Anwar Yehia representing the Minister of Interior and Municipalities HE Ziad Baroud,
The "Pan Arab Observatory for Cybersecurity” gathered experts and professionals from various sectors involved in Cybersecurity to discuss the different needs and emerging issues that the legislative and regulatory frameworks should deal with in the Arab societies. The Observatory covered the commercial, economic, academic and social aspects of the subject and gave particular attention to what is happening on both the legal and regulatory levels.
Eng. Said Haidar Senior Quality of Service Management Expert at the TRA participated in the press conference and delivered a speech on behalf of Dr. Imad Hoballah Commissioner Board Member, Head of Telecommunications Technologies Unit. During his speech, Mr. Haidar highlighted TRA’s efforts in the field of Cybersecurity and children online protection.
