The Middle East Network Operators Group (MENOG) is a regional forum offering network engineers and other technical staff the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, and identify areas for regional cooperation. MENOG meetings include presentations, tutorials and workshops. They also provide opportunities to network with peers from throughout the Middle East and beyond and are free and open to everyone.

The upcoming MENOG 5 / RIPE NCC Regional Meeting will be held for the first time in Beirut between the 25th and 29th of October 2009, and will be hosted by IDM and OGERO.

Dr. Kamal Shehadi, Chairman and CEO of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority will participate as a keynote speaker in the closing session on the 29th of October. In his presentation, Dr. Shehadi will be discussing the role that regulators can play in the transition to IPv6.
