As an internationally recognized expert within the global ICT community, Dr.Kamal Shehadi, TRA Chairman and CEO, was nominated on the Forum Advisory Committee for World Telecom 09. World 2009 is a major ITU event for the ICT community bringing together industry experts that will take place in Geneva in October 2009. It is a unique international place for all stakeholders of ICT-business to share their views and experiences and explore areas essential to the growth of the ICT industry.

World Telecom 09 will be a significant event where specialists will debate and analyze key strategic issues facing the telecom sector while focusing on the impact of the economic crisis on the sector and the role of ICT in the recovery of the broader economy.

The Advisory Committee is in charge of defining the key issues and the agenda of the Forum, which takes place every three years.

The first meeting of this Committee is scheduled on 16-17 March 2009 at the ITU Headquarters in Geneva and will gather Heads of States, Heads of Governments and Heads of UN Agencies.
