The 10th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR10)
November 10 - 12, 2010

Location: Dakar , Senegal

The Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR) has fostered over a decade of open dialogue between the worldwide community of regulators and key ICT stakeholders, including the private sector, investors and consumers, from both developed and developing countries.

The 10th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR10), organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in collaboration with the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Post (ARTP) of Senegal, will be held in Dakar, Senegal, and will be chaired by Mr. Ndongo Diao, Director General, ARTP.

GSR10 will examine the challenges for regulators to stimulate nationwide broadband deployment through adaptive and targeted regulations and out-of-the-box tools.

Regulators need to understand the impact of broadband on and beyond the ICT sector as well as the driving forces of today’s and tomorrow’s ICT markets, notably the migration from analogue to digital terrestrial broadcasting and the allocation of the digital dividend.

GSR10 will also focus on the need to keep up with the pace of convergence and integration of ubiquitous networks, in particular through adapting institutional structure and mandates, adopting cutting-edge best practices and embracing new tools such as innovative dispute resolution techniques.
