The Regulatory Framework for the Establishment of Call Centers in Lebanon
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority is launching for public consultation a Decision on “The Regulatory Framework for the Establishment of Call Centers in Lebanon”. The final decision will be issued by the TRA after closing the consultation process and studying the comments and concerns of interested parties.

The TRA is considering in this draft Decision, some major issues related to the implementation of Call Centers. Among other concerns, the TRA is consulting on the licensing requirements for the establishment of call centers, the level and nature of regulating call center businesses and the need for regulating the provision of public telecommunications services to call centers. The TRA also presents in this consultation a comprehensive description of the typical call center activities and examples of regulatory treatments of such businesses in other jurisdiction.

The TRA welcomes comments on specific issues which are included in boxes within the text of the draft Decision.

The “Regulatory Framework for the Establishment of Call Centers in Lebanon decision” is now launched for consultation. Interested parties are kindly requested to submit their feedback before the 26th of September, 2008 after having reviewed the following documents: The feedback can be submitted by email at callcenters@tra.gov.lb or by courier (hard and soft copy) at the TRA, Marfaa 200 Building Second Floor, Beirut Central District along with the Cover Sheet for response to a TRA Consultation.

The final version of this Decision will be published in Arabic and English after the end of the Consultation.
