On April 23, a virtual
ITU workshop was held on
"The Future of Television for Asia & Pacific".
Mrs. Jinane Karam,
TRA Spectrum Expert and
ITU-D SG representative presented the activities of ITU-D Q2/1 during the Study Group cycle (2018-2021). She also revealed the main findings of the output Report related to the strategies, policies and regulation of the broadcasting transition and the implementation of new services.
The aim of the workshop was to discuss the future of television in the region with relevant stakeholders from Asia & Pacific and other countries. Covered topics related to regulatory and policy frameworks, emerging and convergent ICT Infrastructures and services, user interfaces and accessibility issues.
This workshop also provided an opportunity to discuss TV-related regional and international standardization and to share best practices and case studies on cable TV implementations and other new TV services.
The program of this workshop included 3 sessions:
Session 1: The Future of Television Policy and Standardization
Session 2: The Future of the Television User Experience and Applications
Session 3: The Future of Television Delivery Systems
